Peppers was established in 1984 when Peppers Guest House opened in the Hunter Valley, NSW.  At the time, the short break market was still in its infancy but the concept of a contemporary style guesthouse offering relaxation in luxury surrounds was an instant success. 

Twenty-two years later, Peppers Retreats, Resorts & Hotels now offers a collection of nineteen indulgent escapes throughout regional Australia and New Zealand and is expanding steadily as demand for luxurious breaks rises. 

Ranging from self-contained apartments to luxurious resorts and retreats, accommodation spans all major visitor destinations, including Mount Hotham and Falls Creek in Victoria, Tasmania, the Gold Coast, the Daintree rainforest of Tropical North Queensland, and Queenstown, New Zealand.

The Peppers Collection

Within the collection there exists three distinct styles of property - retreat, resort and hotel. Experiences range from luxury outback cattle stations, intimate vineyard retreats, tropical rainforest lodges, mountain resorts, golfing getaways, grand country estates, to exotic islands.  All are within easy reach of a capital city or major town.

Peppers Retreats

The focus for Peppers Retreats is individual experiences.   Retreats are small and intimate with an emphasis on superb food and good wine.   The aim is to be indulged in every sense, so guests can expect luxurious accommodation in keeping with the retreat's style and surrounding environment.

Peppers Resorts

While the retreats are small and intimate, Peppers Resorts are larger in size with an emphasis on providing guests with an extensive range of activities.  

Peppers Resorts offer traditional activities such as golf, tennis, swimming, gym, and health and beauty facilities, as well as those that are a highlight in the resort's surrounding area.  This could be bush walking in the Blue Mountains, scuba diving at the Great Barrier Reef or wine tasting in the Barossa Valley for example. 

Peppers Hotels

The opening of Peppers Seaport Hotel in Launceston in 2004 saw a new direction for the company.

The aim of Peppers Hotels is to offer guests a Peppers experience at a property that's in closer proximity to a major city or town's CBD. These are hotels that guests want to return to because they feel genuinely cared for by Peppers staff.
