Day by Day Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Fly from Australia to Beijing. Some flights may be overnight depending on flight availability and your departure airport, please ask us for more details. Upon arrival in Beijing, the capital city of China, you will be warmly greeted at the airport by your tour guide and transferred to your hotel.

  2. Day 2

    Beijing has served as the capital of ve dynasties over a period of 800years. Today, visit Tiananmen Square, the second largest public squarein the world, and the Forbidden City, the Chinese imperial palace from the Ming to Qing dynasty. Continue on to the Temple of Heaven, one of the best examples of Ming Dynasty architecture and also an ornate sanctuary where Chinese emperors o ered sacri ces to heaven and prayed for good harvest. Your welcome banquet includes the local delicacy, Peking Roast Duck.

  3. Day 3

    Today’s highlight is an excursion to the majestic Great Wall at JuyongPass, the most famous image of China, and a chance to climb a portion ofthis 3,700-mile marvel. Visit one of the largest Jade Exhibitions in Asiaen-route. After lunch, see skilled artisans at work at a Cloisonné Factory,and visit the Changling Exhibition Hall of the Ming Tombs, wherethirteen of the sixteen Ming dynasty emperors are buried. Tonight, youcan choose to attend an optional large scale dramatic musical, “TheGolden Mask Dynasty” (optional at your own expense).

  4. Day 4

    Tour the exquisite Summer Palace, the largest preserved ancientimperial garden in China, and a former summer resort for Emperors. Then,visit a Chinese Herbal Institute to learn about traditional Chinese medicine,which has existed for thousands of years. This afternoon, join a “HutongLife Tour” (optional at your own expense), a special journey whichexplores Beijing’s ancient alleyways or “hutongs” by pedicab followed by astroll in Wangfujing, one of the Chinese capital’s most famous shoppingstreets. After dinner, cap o the day by attending a superb and thrillingChinese Kung-Fu Show (optional at your own expense).

  5. Day 5

    Experience the high-speed train to Shanghai – the modern metropolisand commercial centre of China. This morning we visit a Silk SpinningMill and learn how silk is created from mulberry-munching silkworms toproduce the nest thread and cloth. Then we walk along the famousBund, a mile-long stretch along the Huangpu River. Lined by the colonialarchitectures of European design, this area is the best place to capturethe western in uences of the old days. Continue to the Old Town whichis a perfect combination of gardens, temples, old architecture, civilculture, business souvenirs and food. In the evening, you may join anoptional “Huangpu River Night Cruise” (at your own expense).

  6. Day 6

    This morning visit Shanghai Museum to see ancient Chinese art,furniture and jade. Then we explore the Xintiandi Area, an a uent andfashionable pedestrian street composed of unique Shikumen (stonegate) and modern architecture style. Our farewell dinner this eveningwill be a banquet of delicious Shanghai cuisine. You can cap of thecelebrations by attending a thrilling optional Chinese acrobatic show -“ERA: The Intersection of Time” (at your own expense).
